The crusaders are the brave, young soldiers of Spira. They join the Youth League or the Yevonites in an attempt to protect the welfare of the people; be it fighting the spawn of Sin, extra-dimensional beings, or machina. No matter the threat, a crusader will never abandon the common man to the cruelty of the powerful.

Crusader is an Archetype of the Warrior class.

True Adaptability (Ex)

At 1st level, The crusader is a font of untold potential and heroics. During daily preparations, a crusader can spend 1 hour to gain 1 bonus combat feat or general feat with which they meet the prerequisites for.

At 6th level, the crusader may choose up to two combat feats, two general, or any combination so long as they meet the prerequisites.

At 10th level, they may choose up to three combat or general feats in any combination.

At 12th level, they may choose up to four combat or general feats in a any combination.

At 20th level, the crusader can choose up to 5 combat or general feats in any combination.

Each feat lasts until the crusader's next daily preparations.

This ability replaces bonus combat feats and secondary training.

Crusader's Training (Ex)

At 1st level, a crusader is trained to dabble in the arts of other disciplines to a lesser extreme than their proper practitioners. Choose one 1st level class ability from the following classes: Thief, Ranger, Knight, Blackbelt, Dragoon, Chemist, Monk, Samurai, Paladin, Dark Knight, Machinist, Gambler or Bard.
You gain that class ability and treat your level in that class as your warrior level - 3 (minimum 1) for purposes of determining the scaling and effectiveness of that class feature.. A crusader can only select class features with the [Ex] tag within it's entry. They cannot choose supernatural or spell-like abilities from those respective classes.

This ability allows the crusader to select abilities at higher levels. However, the selected ability is 'inactive' until the crusader's warrior level meets the requisite level the ability would normally be gained from it's respective class.

Example: A 5th level Crusader chooses to receive the Knight's 4th level Active Bulwark ability. The crusader gains the ability but it is 'inactive' and cannot be used or grant its benefits until the 8th level (the crusader's current effective knight level will be 2, thus the ability cannot be used.)

A crusader cannot choose abilities or class features from archetypes related to the above classes. At 3rd level, 5th level and every two levels thereafter, a crusader can choose another 1st level ability or a higher level ability from the above list of classes. A crusader that chooses a higher level ability treats their level in the respective class as equal to half their warrior level (rounded down, minimum of 1) for that ability. Once an ability is chosen, it cannot be changed.

This ability replaces Advance, Warfares, War Cry, Holmgang, Greater Warfares, Retaliation, Shake it Off, Tireless Advance, and Doublestrike.

Crusader's Repertoire (Ex)

The crusader is a mismatch of dedication and zealous fury. A crusader gains less Warrior talents over their career but adds variety to their skill sets. A Crusader gains a talent at 2nd level, 5th level, and every three levels there after. However, a crusader may take a talent in place of their warrior talents should they so choose. The talents a crusader can take are from the following classes so long as he meets the prerequisites for each talent: The Thief's thief talents, Ranger's ranger talents, Knight's knight talents, Blackbelt's brawling talents, Paladin's astral arts, Samurai's bushido, Dark Knight's umbral arts and a Bard's bard talents.

The crusader treats their warrior level as equal to the appropriate class level related to the talent they are selecting from - 2 (minimum of 1). Should a crusader gain a level in the respective class that each talent belongs too, the crusader's level stacks with that class's level for the purposes of prerequisites.

This ability modifies and may replace Warrior Talents.

Dauntless Crusader (Ex)

At 20th level, the crusader has reached the pinnacle of their potential. During daily preparations, a Crusader may choose up to three of his ability scores to receive a +4 inherent bonus. This bonus lasts until his next daily preparations. A Crusader may also switch his limit break mode as a full-round action once per turn, although doing so reduces the amount of accumulated gauge he has by half.

This ability replaces Ultimate Warrior.
