Ever has man coveted knowledge, and none more so than that of his fate. Thus did he labor to master the skill of foresight—but initial efforts bore little fruit. That is, until he looked to the stars above, which foretell the coming seasons, and learned to read the heavens.
Though this gift is known today as astrology, the people of Sharalyan saw fit to not only read the stars, but to write their movements as well. By attuning their aetherial energies to that of constellations, they learned to wield magicks with heretofore unseen properties.
Thus was astromancy born—a new form of magick which grants its users power over fate. Employing a star globe and divining deck in their miraculous deeds, fortune always smiles upon these masters of arcana
Astrologian is an archetype of Time Mage. Other archetypes can *explicitly* overwrite Astrologian features, allowing any archetype to stack with it.
Limit Break
Astrologians do not gain access to “I’ve checked every timeline!”, but instead gain access to the following Limit Break:
Collective Unconscious: For a number of rounds equal to 1 + the number of stacks expended, the Astrologian projects a 30 foot aura of sanctity and protection. All creatures within the bubble cannot make aggressive actions for the duration of the limit break, unless they make a Will save of DC 10 + the Astrologian’s Wisdom Modifier + the starting duration of the limit break, for each aggressive action. This is a swift action to use.
Wisdom Of The Stars
Astrologians use Wisdom in place of Intelligence for any feature that requires it. In addition, if another archetype modifies a feature, that archetype’s features also use Wisdom instead.
In Addition, at 1st level, The Astrologian can choose whether to access the Time Mage spell list, or the White Mage spell list. Once this decision is made, this cannot be changed.
Wisdom Of The Stars modifies Spellcasting and Cantrips.
Draw (Su)
At 1st level, the Astrologian gains access to a divine deck of tarot cards, encased in a floating astrolabe. The Astrologian can draw a card from the deck as a swift action, and can do so a number of times per day equal to ½ their Aastrologian level + their Wisdom modifier (Minimum 1). Each card has a different Effect and Seal as noted below. The Astrologian can store one of each seal, for 10 minutes after drawing a card of that seal. Applying the effect of a card is done as part of the swift action or held for a number of rounds equal to their Wisdom modifier (Minimum 1), for using with other abilities, and is applied to one ally within 30 feet. Applying an effect of a card in this way in a later turn is also a swift action. The effects also increase by +1 at 5th and every 5 levels afterwards, to a maximum of +5 at level 20. Card buffs last a number of turns equal to the Astrologian’s Wisdom modifier (minimum 1)
Seals: Also at 1st level, If the Aastrologian has a stored seal, and draws another card of that seal type, they can expend the seal to swap the card to the other card that shares that seal. For example, the Astrologian has Solar stored, and draws Balance. He can expend The Solar Seal to swap the Balance card to the Bole card, as part of the swift action used to draw it.
| d6 | Tarot Card | Effect | Seal |
| 1 | The Balance | +1 Insight to Melee Damage Rolls | Solar |
| 2 | The Bole | +1 Insight to Ranged Damage rolls | Solar |
| 3 | The Arrow | +1 Insight Bonus to Ranged Attack rolls | Lunar |
| 4 | The Spear | +1 Insight Bonus to Melee Attack Rolls | Celestial |
| 5 | The Ewer | +1 Insight Bonus to AC and CMD | Lunar |
| 6 | The Spire | +1 Insight Bonus to Caster Level and Concentration checks. | Celestial |
Performing Draw requires one free hand.
Draw replaces Probability Manipulation.
Lightspeed (Su)
At 1st level, the Astrologian can use the power of the stars to improve their casting speeds. By expending a drawn card, the Astrologian can reduce the casting speed of a spell by one step, from full-round to standard, standard to move, move to swift. It cannot reduce a spell below a swift action, and does not stack with similar effects, such as Quicken Spell. Lightspeed only applies to spells learned via Astrologian.
Lightspeed replaces Manipulate: Speed
Divine Providence (Ex)
Whenever the Astrologian can choose a Temporal Talent, they may take an Opal talent from White Mage, as if they were a white mage of the same level, instead.
In addition, Astrologian gains access to the following, unique Talents
| Name | Prerequisite | Effect |
| Celestial Intersection | Astrologian Level 4 | Each time this talent is taken, the Astrologian can take three spells from the list they did not select at level one. This talent can be taken once per 4 levels in Astrologian. |
| Lord of Crowns | None | The Astrologian gains access to a more powerful card - The Lord of Crowns. When they draw a Balance, Spear or Ewer card, they can forgo claiming a seal, and spend an additional draw to draw The Lord of Crowns. The Lord of Crowns functions like a normal card, but the target gains +1 to hit and damage with all melee attacks, with the same scaling as normal draws. |
| Lady of Crowns | None | The Astrologian gains access to a more powerful card - The Lady of Crowns. When they draw a Bole, Arrow or Spire card, they can forgo claiming a seal, and spend an additional draw to draw The Lady of Crowns. The Lady of Crowns functions like a normal card, but the target gains +1 to hit and damage with all ranged attacks, with the same scaling as normal draws. |
Divine Providence modifies Temporal Talents
Redraw (Su)
At 3rd level, when the Astrologian draws a card, they can opt to reroll the draw, and take the second result. This can be done whenever the Astrologian draws, but only once per draw. This is done before storing Seals, or using seals to swap cards.
Redraw replaces Manipulate: Projectile.
Horoscope (Ex)
At 4th level, the stars warn those blessed with their wisdom of impending danger. Whenever the Aastrologian or an ally receives an insight bonus from a draw effect, they gain the benefits of evasion (as the Time Mage ability) for the duration of the draw effect.
This ability replaces Evasion.
Aetherial Reservoir (Su)
At 5th level, the Astrologian’s manipulation of magic improves. He gains a smaller, secondary pool of MP, called the Aetherial Reservoir. This pool’s cap is equal to his Astrologian Level + Wisdom modifier. He can put MP from his normal pool into his Aetherial reservoir as a full round action. MP in the reservoir is not lost when resting, nor does it refill from a night’s rest. Taking MP from the Reservoir is a swift action, with a maximum MP taken equal to the Astrologian’s Wisdom Modifier in one round.
Aetherial Reservoir replaces Temporal Reservoir, but any feature that isn’t replaced that requires Temporal Reservoir can use the Aetherial Reservoir instead.
Predict: Magic (Su)
Predict: Magic functions the same as Manipulate: Magic, except that it uses Aetheric MP instead of Temporal MP, and uses two Draw instead,
Predict: Magic modifies Manipulate: Magic
Astrodyne (Su)
At 9th level, the Astrologian gains the ability to extract the true power of their Seals. As a move action, the Astrologian can expend their seals to provide buffs to all allies within 30 feet. The buff depends on which seals are expended, and last a number of rounds equal to the Astrologian’s Wisdom Modifier. This effect includes the Astrologian as a target.
Solar: All allies within 30 feet gain an Insight modifier to melee and ranged damage rolls equal to the Astrologian’s Wisdom modifier.
Lunar: All allies within 30 feet gain an Insight modifier to hit equal to the Astrologian’s Wisdom modifier, and half that (rounded down) to AC and CMD.
Celestial: All Allies within 30 feet gain a number of temporary MP equal to the Astrologian’s Wisdom modifier for the purpose of augmenting spells, as well as temporary HP of the same value.
Astrodyne replaces Manipulate: Metal
Predict: Resource (Su)
Predict: Magic functions the same as Manipulate: Magic, except that it uses Draw instead of Manipulations
Predict: Resource modifies Manipulate: Resource
Drain Fate (Su)
Drain Fate functions the same as Drain Time, except it applies no debuff, uses Wisdom instead of Intelligence, has a range of 15 feet, and restores 1 draw, with the same limitations.
Drain Fate modifies Drain Time
Predict: Life (Su)
At 17th level, the Astrologian’s power of prediction and monitoring fate is so immense, it can rewind some of it, providing a last ditch save. As an immediate action, the Astrologian can expend one Draw to heal an ally within 30 feet for 5d6 + Wisdom Modifier in reaction to an ally falling unconscious. If this heal is enough to bring them back above 0, they gain the effect of a card as if Draw was used on them. This can be done only once per day per 4 levels of Astrologian, to a max of 5 per day at level 20.
Predict: Life replaces Manipulate: Aura
Sleeve Draw (Ex)
At 20th level, whenever the Astrologian draws a card, they draw two and choose which to use, before applying things such as Redraw and using Seals to swap cards. If using Redraw, you also get two cards and choose one.
In addition, their Aetherial Reservoir doubles
Sleeve Draw replaces Time Lord
