The way of the assassin is one of patience. They stalk their marks in utmost secrecy - making deadly strokes at the critical moment.

The assassin is an archetype of the Thief class.

Assassin’s Sneak Attack (Ex)

At 1st level, the assassin gains his first 1d6 of sneak attack dice, increasing by 1d6 every three thief levels thereafter, up to a total of 7d6 at 19th level.

This modifies Sneak Attack.

Master of Initiation (Ex)

A prolonged fight provides no benefit to even the most skillful of assassins: As such, the best know how to get the first blow in and get out scot-free. At 2nd level, the assassin receives the Improved Initiative feat as a bonus feat. In addition, whenever the assassin hits a creature during a surprise round, that creature suffers a penalty to attack rolls and saving throws equal to 1/3rd of your thief level on the following round.

This ability replaces Size Up.

Assassinate (Ex)

At 4th level, the assassin lives up to their name: executing a deadly strike that’s almost assured to end a life. Whenever the assassin is able to deliver a sneak attack to a creature, he can make a special attack action instead. Make a single weapon attack with a -2 penalty. On a hit you deal normal weapon damage, plus an additional +1d6 points of weapon damage per thief level you possess in place of your sneak attack damage. The maximum amount of damage you can deal with this attack is equal to the difference between the target creature’s maximum hit points and their current hit points. A successful Fortitude save halves the maximum damage this ability can deal (DC 10 + half your thief level + Intelligence modifier). Any creature that is immune to precision damage or critical hits is unaffected by this ability.

This ability replaces Debilitating Injury.

Rupturing Strikes (Su)

At 6th level, with flawless techniques, you always know where and how to make the vitals bleed. Weapons you wield have the wounding special quality. You can activate or suppress this ability as a swift action. At 10th, 14th, and 18th level the base bleed damage from the wounding special quality increases by 1.

This ability replaces Power of Knowledge.

Death Blow (Ex)

At 10th level, whenever the assassin hits a creature with Sneak Attack or Assassinate, and that creature has 20% or less of their maximum hit points remaining, the attack is treated as a critical threat.

This ability replaces Mug.
