DESCRIPTION
A spell designed for those who lack the time to devote to academic pursuits, scan allows for a character to quickly garner information about a creature. The caster makes a knowledge check against the target creature as if they had rolled an 11. If the caster does not have ranks in the appropriate skill, they are treated as though they had 1 rank in that skill and treats that skill as a class skill for this purpose. (Effectively, if you have no ranks in the skill, this spell allows you to make a knowledge check against a creature with a result of 15 + your intelligence modifier.)
Scan can be used to identify creatures as well as to recall intrigues (Though, in the latter case the caster uses this spell within 1 round of the class feature or feat being used, rather than upon it being used.)
Active Augment: For each additional MP spent, the caster is treated as having an additional rank in that skill.
