DESCRIPTION
This spell was developed by mages in pursuit of understanding undeath. What was once a rite used to try and speak to the dead, it now finds the strand of life bound to a creature - and snaps it.
Choose one creature in range. That creature must make a Fortitude saving throw. On a failure, the creature dies instantly. A creature killed in this way has no discernable markings, or wounds inflicted on the body. A faint aura of Necromancy lingers for 10 minutes per hit die the creature had before its death. Creatures that are revived while the aura of this spell is still in place gain an additional negative level on revival.
Special:
If the caster uses this spell on a creature with more hit dice than the Caster has caster levels, that creature receives a +2 bonus on the save. This is due to a caster's inexperience with a stronger creature's pull on life.
Active Augment:
For every 2 additional MP spent the saving throw DC of the spell increases by 1. This is in addition to the normal DC for spending more MP on the spell.
Passive Augments:
Mega Death (16 MP): The spell is now a 30ft circular burst that can be aimed within range.
Prime Level Death (20 MP): the spell is now a 45ft spread and instills a -2 penalty on the saving throw.
