Engineers of Baron are rather peculiar folks. Using chemicals to power up their already impressive martial feats, as well as the unique ability to seemingly peek into the souls of their enemies.

Engineer is an archetype of the Chemist.

Weapon and Armor Proficiencies

Engineers are proficient in all simple weapons and all weapons in the axe and hammer weapon groups. They are also proficient in light and medium armor but not shields.

This replaces weapon and armor proficiencies.

Combat Upgrade

The engineer trades some of their explosive power for martial might. The engineer’s base attack bonus increases by one step (from 3/4ths BAB to full). The engineer’s hit dice are also increased from a d8 to a d10.

This replaces Bomb. For the purposes of Mixes that require Bomb damage, Engineer uses 1d4 plus 1d4 for every two levels after 1st instead.

Volatile Mix (Ex)

The engineer’s hasty movements make their concoctions unstable. Engineers may only make Mixes with the Glass Vial or Substrate Lacquer containers, this list can be added to by breakthroughs.

This alters Mix.

Observant Scan (Sp)

At 3rd level, the engineer gains unique insight into their opponents. They can cast Scan as a spell-like ability, using their Chemist level as the MP spent. After doing so they may not use this ability for 1d3+1 rounds.

This replaces the 3rd-level Merchant’s Wit.

Chemical Upgrade (Ex)

At 8th level, the engineer may draw the ingredients, create, and use mixes with the Substrate Lacquer container as a move action.

This replaces Bombard.

Hastened Upgrade (Ex)

At 15th level, the engineer may draw the ingredients, create, and use mixes with the Substrate Lacquer container as a swift action.

This replaces Greater Bombard.

Master Engineer (Ex)

Instead of their bomb damage being increased to d8s, engineers increase their bomb damage for Mixes to d6s.

This alters Master Chemist.
