Traditional bards sing songs of heroes, villains, and great triumph, or of the beings beyond our plane that wield immense power. The same cannot be said for Vine-nyl Musicians, who sing the praises of nature and the very land they toil and sow. Their power comes not from rhythm and tune, but from the very flora they grow.
Vine-nyl Musician is an archetype of Bard Encore.
Grow, My Garden! (Su)
In place of building tempo by combining songs as they perform, Vine-nyl Musicians gain the ability to place songs into seed pods, and planting them. As part of the standard action, he may select a song that counts as an [Finale] and plant it. The seed stays dormant, building up one tempo per round since it has been planted. As a free action on his turn, or when the song has reached max tempo, the seed sprouts, growing a beautiful flower or patch of crops, which performs the song from it’s location. The Bard can plant one seed as a standard action. Songs calculate range, effects and targets from where the seed is placed, not from the Bard.
The Vine-nyl musician can perform songs as normal, but cannot build up tempo in this manner. The DC for songs uses the Vine-nyls stat as determined by College Of Flora
Otherwise, this functions as, and counts as, the Rhythm class feature, and the Vine-nyl Musician gains songs known at the same rate.
This modifies Rhythm.
College of Flora
At 1st level, the Vine-nyl Musician chooses between Agriculture and Botany. Each one grants different powers and bonuses.
College Of Agriculture
The College of Agriculture brings forth the very lifeblood of civilization. The crops and food upon which mortal man sups in his evening dinner. Agricultural Vine-nyl Musicians excel in supporting their allies and keeping them hale and hearty
Associated Skill: Profession (Farmer)
At 1st level, the College Of Agriculture can cast Goodberry a number of times per day equal to their Wisdom Modifier. Unlike a normal casting, this spell creates a myriad of crops to sate the same number of creatures, such as wheat for bread, and potatoes for supper. Otherwise, it follows the spell’s effects.
All Bard Features not adjusted by Vine-nyl Musician for the College Of Agriculture use Wisdom wherever Charisma is mentioned.
At 9th level, the Vine-nyl Musician gains a leshy familiar, as per the Leshy Warden archetype, using their bard level as their wizard level. They do not get access to the domain granted, but otherwise follow the feature
At 17th level, a number of times per day equal to the Bard’s Wisdom Modifier, their Leshy Familiar can grow into a Treant with the Advanced Template, as a swift action. This lasts for 1 minute, after which the Leshy cannot grow for one hour.
College Of Botany
The College Of Botany bring out the medicinal powers within the land and it’s bounty, granting great boons in healing.
Associated Skill: Artistry (Flower Arranging)
At 1st level, the College Of Botany gains the Chemist’s Mix Feature, except he uses Slow Mix Beaker, Clear Water, and Pixie Wing regardless of other components. He treats his Bard levels as Chemist levels to calculate bomb damage, and thus, healing from this feature.
All Bard Features not adjusted by Vine-nyl Musician for the College Of Agriculture use Intelligence wherever Charisma is mentioned.
At 9th level, the College Of Botany gain access to a unique Container, called the Floral Wreath. This counts as Slow Mix Beaker for what works with it.
Floral Wreath: This Container does not activate until placed upon a person within 5 feet, by the Bard as part of creating the mixture. Upon doing so, the bard rolls the full effects, but one quarter of the effect applies instantly, and again for the next four rounds, effectively amplifying the total effect by 1.25, rounding down. For mixes that cure status effects, this allows the bard to give multiple saves against a status condition. Only one Floral Wreath can be active at any one time.
At 17th level, the College Of Botany lose any restrictions on the Mix Feature granted at first level.
College Of Flora replaces College Of Performance.
Nature’s Tempo (Ex)
The Bard triggers Battle Tempo, Ear Shredding Ballad or Skillful Inspiration whenever they plant a seed, or when a seed sprouts and performs a song.
This modifies Battle Tempo and Ear-Shredding Ballad.
Versatile Herbcraft (Ex)
at 2nd level, A bard diversifies how he uses his associated skill from College of Flora, and chooses two skills from the list below. He can use his bonus in his associated skill in place of his bonus in the chosen skills. When substituting in this way, the bard uses his total associated skill bonus, including class skill bonus, in place of its associated skill’s bonus, whether or not he has ranks in that skill or if it is a class skill. At 6h level and every 4 levels afterwards, the Vine-nyl Musician adds an additional skill to be substituted.
Profession Farmer: Craft (Weapons, Baskets, Carpentry, Structural), Diplomacy, Knowledge (Nature, Local), Survival, Sense Motive.
Artistry (Flower Arranging): Craft (Alchemy, Baskets, Cloth, Painting), Disguise, Diplomacy, Knowledge (Nature, Local), Sense Motive, Use Magic Device
++Green Growth Tempo (Su)
At 5th level, the Bard may either use Life Sustenance Tempo as normal, or, opt to increase the tempo of one seed within 30 feet by one.
This modifies Life Sustenance Tempo.
Helping With The Harvest (Su)
At 7th level, A number of times per day equal to 3 + his mental modifier set by College Of Flora, the Bard can toss a seed to an ally within 30 feet, who can plant the seed as a free action, in any unoccupied square within 5 feet. Otherwise, this counts as Lets Put On A Show.
This modifies Let’s Put On A Show.
Spreading Bloom (Su)
At 19th level, when using Helping With The Harvest, the Bard can spend multiple uses of Helping With The Harvest To use an ally within 30 feet as the target of their seed pass. For each use spent, they can then select a further ally at 30 feet from the last chosen ally. The last ally picked is then used as per Helping With The Harvest. Each ally, or seed within 30 foot of that ally, in the chain also gains the effects of Battle Tempo, or a similar feature, such as Green Growth Tempo or Skillful Inspiration.
This replaces A Killer Show.
